in early 2007 modu, a micro-mobile start-up approached me to join the team of amazing professionals in the position of Design manager and later Design and UX team leader. the project was a very ambitious one - devising a new Eco-system for mobile communication, redefining mobile devices and freedom of use by dividing the system to a core-device (the modu) and a multitude of attached devices (Jackets) that change the style, size and functionality. in the process we also created the smallest mobile phone to date. the position entailed managing a team of 4 designers in-house and managing design processes from concept to product.
Part of modu’s design proosition was the modu jackets concepts project. Managing the process I worked with several design studios in Israel, Sweden and the US. the goal of the process was to create a database of more than 30 Mudu product concepts, showing the diversity of the modu story, and develop each one to a prototype. the project was shown at CES 2009, as part of unavailing the modu vision and was later developed further resulting in more than 40 product concepts.
